Post header alignment
Appearance → Customize → Single post → Header alignment. Left, Center (default) or Right.
What moves
The whole block above the post content, as one unit:
- the categories
- the post title
- the subtitle
- the meta row (date, comment count)
The body copy is never affected — it is always left-aligned, because centred long-form text is unreadable.
Which to pick
Center is the theme’s own look and suits the narrow reading column: the headline reads as a title page before the article starts.
Left lines the header up with the text underneath it, which is the more editorial arrangement and the one that copes best with long titles. If your headlines routinely run to two lines, left is the better choice — a wrapped centred headline has two ragged edges.
Right is a strong stylistic statement. It works with short titles and a narrow column, and it needs a reason.
Only from tablet up
Center and Right apply from the tablet breakpoint upward. Narrow screens always read left.
That is not a limitation, it is the correct behaviour: on a 375px screen a centred title of any length becomes a ragged block of text, and there is no gain in alignment to trade for it.
So Center on desktop and left on a phone is what the default already gives you.
Not the same as page title alignment
Pages have their own setting, and it moves the title alone rather than a block of four things — a page has no categories or meta row to align. See Page title alignment, which also has a per-page override that this setting deliberately does not: a post’s header is a block, and overriding it per post would need four decisions rather than one.
