Stacked alignment

Appearance → Customize → Blog → Stacked alignment. Left, Center (default) or Right.

The control only appears while Display is set to Stacked. The list and grid displays are left-aligned by design: beside or under a fixed-ratio image, any other edge reads as ragged.

What moves

Four things, together:

The post text stays left-aligned whichever you pick. Centred body copy is unreadable at any length, so the excerpt is never dragged along with the rest.

Which to pick

Center is what the theme has always drawn, and it suits the narrow reading column it was designed for: the entry reads as a poster, with the picture centred under a centred headline.

Left is the quieter, more editorial choice, and it is what most blogs eventually want. It also lines the title up with the excerpt beneath it, which centring deliberately does not. If your titles are long enough to wrap, left is almost always better — a two-line centred headline has two ragged edges.

Right is a deliberate, uncommon look. It works on a narrow column with short titles and no subtitles, and stops working the moment a title wraps.

With a wide layout

If you have set Blog → Layout to Full width and left the display stacked, centre alignment spreads each entry across the whole container and the headline can end up a very long way from the text under it. Left is the safer pairing there.
