Page title alignment
Appearance → Customize → Page → Title alignment. Left, Center (default) or Right.
The <h1> at the top of a page, and nothing else — a page has no categories or
meta row to move with it, which is what makes this simpler than the
post header alignment.
Overriding it on one page
The Page options box in the editor sidebar carries the same three choices plus — Site default —, which is what a page starts on.
That override is the point of the setting. A site of centred page titles with one left-aligned landing page is easy; so is the reverse.
Set it back to Site default and the page follows the site again.
Only from tablet up
Center and Right apply from the tablet breakpoint upward. Narrow screens always read left. A centred title on a 375px screen is a ragged block of text, and there is nothing to gain by insisting.
Hiding the title entirely
Also in the Page options box: Hide page title?
Tick it and the <h1> is not printed. Useful when
- the page opens with a Cover block that already carries the title,
- the page is a landing page whose first block is the headline,
- the title exists only for the menu and the URL.
Combine it with the Full width layout and the theme also drops the top padding, so the first block starts right under the header. See Full width and narrow.
The page keeps its title in the admin, in menus, in search results and in the browser tab — you have only removed it from the top of the page.
